Emily and Brian’s lake wedding in New Hampshire was a dream come true for the bride – the bride’s grandparents spent their summers in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and she had dreamt about being wed on Church Island since she was a girl.
Church Island is a small, non-denominational chapel on Squam Lake in Holderness, NH. This special place has a rich history: it was originally home to a boys’ camp in the late 1800s and has been operating as a chapel since 1903. When guests arrive by boat to the Island, they are greeted by a private, serene and beautiful place. The unique chapel is rustic and open-air, with wooden pews, a birch cross, and stone altar.
Emily arrived on the island with her father on an antique wooden boat owned by a family friend. The new couple departed on the same boat after the ceremony then hopped into a 1963 Ford Mustang convertible to travel to a private family estate for the reception.
The wedding, with its rustic decor and navy and hot pink colors, was artfully designed by Kate Dawson. The barn reception featured rentals from Lakes Region Tent and Event, florals by E.H. Floral, catering by Carrie Lowell, and a delicious wedding cake by the cake diva at OOO LA LA Creative Cakes.
